4 day desert tour to Merzouga via Rose Valley

Departure from Marrakech to the Todgha gorge, we will cross the Tizi N’tichka Mountains (High Atlas, the highest mountain of Morocco at 2260 meters), visit to the Kasbah of Talouet, with lunch along the way.
Visit in the early afternoon at the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou. Located 30 km from Ouarzazate, Aït Ben Haddou is an ancient UNESCO-listed Berber Kasba that has kept its original architecture and rhythms intact.
Arrival in Ouarzazate with dinner and overnight in riad.
In the morning we will visit the Kasbah of Taouirt in Ouarzazate and we will leave for Skoura, where there is an ancient Kasbah (Amridil) surrounded by Berber villages still inhabited by locals in a charming oasis.
Soon after we leave for the valley of roses and visit the Kasbah Tizzarouine, a crossroads between the gorges and the valley of the Dadès, also known as the “valley of a thousand kasbahs”.
We will head towards the Todgha gorges passing through the Dades gorges (where by taking a short path on the unpaved road we will visit the typical caves inhabited by nomadic people).
Heading west (towards Ouarzazate), we will arrive at Tinghir, dominated by an imposing kasbah.
Tinghir is the ideal starting point to visit the Todra Gorges, arrival in the afternoon to the gorge dinner and overnight in a typical riad to the Todgha gorge.
In the morning and after breakfast we will take a hike to the gorges (1h of gear), and we will leave for the dunes of Merzouga, stopping in an archaeological area where there are many prehistoric fossils, lunch in Rissani, a typical Berber village with a ancient Kasbah.
Afternoon arrival in Merzouga and sunset with dromedary back.
Dinner and overnight in Merzouga in a nomadic bivouac in Erg Chebi, evening with traditional Saharaoui music from the desert.
Early wake up to witness the beautiful sunrise over the erg chebbi dunes, camel ride back to Merzouga, after breakfast we will drive in the direction of Fes.
We will pass by Errachidia and we will stop at a traditional spa (Moulay Shirif) and resume the road to Fes passing through Midlet and the cedar forest inhabited by monkeys, crossing the plateau of the middle atlas characterized by beautiful Berber villages.
Along the way we will visit the mountain town of Ifrane, known as “Switzerland in Morocco”.
Arrival in the evening in Fes.
Fes sightseeing tour, the day will be dedicated to the visit of the city of Fes, which includes the Medieval Medina, the ancient Mederse, the El Qaraouiyyin Mosque and the sumptuous Nejjarine fountain.
Departure from Fes to visit Meknés (there will be a stop at the Roman Ruins of Volubilis and the sacred city of Moulay Idriss I, the burial city of the founder of Islam in Morocco, arrival in Meknes founded at the end of the 17th century by Moulay Ismail, where we will visit the historical monuments of Morocco like the Bab Mansour gate, Hari Souani and the old medina). Overnight stay in Meknés riad.
Departure from Rabat to the city of Casablanca, where we will visit the Hassan II Mosque after sightseeing of Casablanca continue to El jadida.
Visit the city, passing along the coast. Overnight in El Jadida, a fortified Portuguese town, a UNESCO heritage site and an elegant seaside resort.
Departure from El Jadida towards Essaouira, passing through Safi, with its splendid coast of pink cliffs overlooking the sea.
In the early afternoon, arrival in Essaouira, a charming little seaside town, is the ancient Portuguese city of Mogador.
Visit the fish market, the medina and the beach of Sidi Kauki, known as the paradise of surfers. Dinner and overnight in riad in Essaouira.
In the morning visit to the beautiful beach of Sidi Kauki, near Essaouira, surfer’s paradise, return to Marrakech, with a stop in Argana cooperative, a place of production of argan oil.
Arrival in Marrakech and check in to your hotel or Riad.

Arrival and reception, customs formalities and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in the reserved rooms, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, departure for Essaouira and visit of the city, nicknamed “the pearl of the Atlantic”, it is famous for the ancient port, the colorful boats of the fishermen and the long beach of fine sand, and fascinates tourists for the beauty of its walls, inside which they develop, in the maze of streets, the old city, the Medina and the Jewish quarter.
In the afternoon, departure for Casablanca along the road that runs along the Atlantic Ocean with stops at Oualidia and El Jadida, a charming and elegant town that preserves the alleys and bastions of an old Portuguese medina.
Depending on the time of arrival, a visit to the fortified city, the ancient city of Mazagan, and the chance to discover the Portuguese cistern.
Arrival in Casablanca in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and visit of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco.

Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, departure for the wonderful imperial capital of Meknes, with its palaces and mosques, renowned for its 40 km long walls.
Visit the magnificent Bab El Monsour gate, the royal stables and the Jewish quarter.
Continuation to the holy city of Moulay Idriss, whose origins date back to 788 AD, passing through the ruins of Volubilis, an important Roman archaeological site, included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Continue to Fez, the spiritual and cultural city of Morocco. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, a day awaits you entirely dedicated to visiting the holy city.
A visit to the medieval Medina, Medersa Attarine and Bou Anania (teaching school of the Qur’an and classical subjects), the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum and the exterior of the Karaouyne mosque are planned.
In the afternoon, continuation of the visit of the famous souks, where the craftsmen still work according to the ancient local traditions, and of Fes el-Jdid, reign of the merchants of Berber carpets, of snake charmers and street shows.
Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for the beautiful city of Ifrane through the Atlas mountain range, an oasis of freshness and nature immersed in a beautiful and fertile valley cultivated between the undulating plains where olive trees, palms and almond trees grow.
Stop at Beni Mellal, a delightful town 600 meters above sea level, famous for its oranges and season fruits, large, brightly colored wool blankets. Continue to Marrakech and transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel and visit of Marrakech, the second imperial city called “The Pearl of the South”, with the splendid Menara Gardens and the great central lake, the Saadian Tombs, the luxurious Bahia Palace decorated with lively mosaics, the residence of the Ba- Ahmed, the Koutoubia Mosque, a classic example of Moorish art flanked by a 70-meter-high minaret, and the Dar Si Said Museum of Moroccan Art.
Lunch at a local restaurant (not included). In the afternoon, a leisurely stroll leads you through the famous souks, the craft district and the famous Jemaa El Fna square in the heart of the city, a huge market by day and a true open-air theater at nightfall, when artists perform street, musicians and storytellers in the fascinating Moroccan universe illuminated by a thousand lights.
Return to the hotel and overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Ait Benhaddou via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m altitude): a journey through the mountains of the High Atlas chain that will take you to the Kasbah perched on the banks of the river, with towers and high crenellated walls, declared World Heritage Site by Unesco since 1987.
It is the most spectacular and impressive fortress in the south of Morocco, with squares and narrow alleys that climb between the homes of wealthy merchants and.
In the afternoon, continuation towards Zagora, passing through the beautiful oasis of the Draa Valley, with palm trees, orchards, gardens, stretches of sand and kasbahs from the magnificent poor architecture made of wood, stone and earth.
Transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, departure to Tamgroute for a visit to the production factory of typical green enamel ceramics and (upon availability) to the rich library that collects valuable works of theology, history and medicine, and thousands of manuscripts including the ancient examples of the Koran in gazelle leather dating back to the twelfth century.
Later on, departure for Erfoud, passing through Tansikht and Nkob, where enchanting scenarios of pre-Saharan desert and Berber villages of the Saghro mountain continue unabated.
In the afternoon, after passing the small Berber village of Tazzarine, continue towards Alnif and Rissani, birthplace of the current Alaouites dynasty. Arrival in Merzouga.
Change car for camels to witness a lifetime sunset over the big dunes of erg chebbi.
Overnight in desert camp in the midde of the dunes, dinner and overnight.
Early wake up to admire the sunrise over the dunes changing the color of the golden sand, camel ride back to the hotel.
After breakfast, departure to Tinghir for a visit to the magnificent Todra Gorges, whose high walls of pink and gray rock carved by the water reach a height of 250 meters. In the afternoon, departure to Ouarzazate via the Thousand Kasbah road, El Kelaa de Mgouna and the village of Skoura.

In the morning after breakfast we will leave towards Zagora.
At the village of Rissani where the first danties in Morocco started, and the village where the alaouite denasty started many centuries ago, along the route we will cross the Berber villages of Anif and Tazarine, with the beautiful palm grove and rock carvings and pre-Islamic tombs, where we will resume the road to the Draa valley.
We will stop for some breathtaking photos over the palm grove of draa valley just before arriving at Zagora.
Overnight in Hotel or riad.
Departure from Zagora and M’hamid, crossing the Draa valley, a wonderful oasis area crossed by the river draa with beautiful Berber villages and ancient Kasbahs, palm groves and oasis.
On the way to M’hamid we will pass by Tamagroute where we will visit the Koranic library and ceramic cooperatives.
In the afternoon we will continue towards the desert of M’hamid village of nomad desert outpost, called “the door of the desert”, where the asphalt road ends and the track begins in the middle of the desert.
From M’hamid we will start in 4 × 4 towards Chegaga, we will cross 60 km of desert track that will present itself under different landscapes (desert of sand, stones and rivers).
Lunch at the sacred oasis, an ancient oasis with water source natural, resting place and watering of the ancient caravans, considered sacred due to the presence of an ancient Marabut.
Camel trek excursion to enjoy the sunset in the desert. Dinner and overnight in Chegaga in the desert, evening with traditional Saharaoui music of the desert.
After a traditional breakfast, we will cross in 4 × 4 the small Iriqui dunes and the black pebble plains; we will resume the asphalt road towards the village of Foum Zguid, to get to Taznakht.
